“FAST FACTS” about the Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce!

The following facts are about the Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce and will help you understand, “What the Chamber is – Why you should belong – Chamber Member Benefits and What does your Investment provide”.  These Fast Facts are to provide you with some knowledge of what the Chamber is and what the Chamber does.

• The Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of the Business Community.  Membership dues collected and various fund raising projects support the Chamber’s operation.  The Chamber is a non-profit, tax-paying Corporation.  The Chamber primarily serves the needs of the residents, organizations, and business entities and provides Economic development information to interested parties.
   

• The Membership is composed of Businesses, Professional People, Financial Institutions, Medical Services and Private Citizens.  We are not a part of a Service Club, Civic Club or Charitable Organization and we are not a part of the Town Government.
   

• A Board of Directors consisting of 15 individuals that are elected by the Chamber Membership manages the Chamber.  We have an Executive Director and an Administrative Assistant.
   

• Why should you and I belong to the Chamber of Commerce:
   

• The Chamber is an organization that brings the Business and Private sectors together through meetings, advertising and sharing of information through mailings to prospective Businesses and Residents.
   

• The Chamber links the entire Community together making possible public and business combined efforts on projects.  Allows for satisfaction that we can work on common goals and be successful in our group efforts.
   

• The Chamber is involved in activities affecting the welfare of the Town, County, and State and the interest of the residents therein.
   

• Working with the Chamber will benefit our personal affairs as well as our business affairs.  The ability for planning, counsel and activities obtained within the Chamber helps individuals serve their Community.  Their active participation in the work of the Chamber of Commerce will help develop the individual’s own strengths and increase their knowledge and views of the overall activities of the Community.
   

• By working with the Chamber, we are allowed to gauge the Town’s enterprise, prosperity, ambitions and activities regarding the interest of the Community.  If we are to derive benefits from the community organizations, we must give it our support.
   

• The Chamber of Commerce is actively involved in the Economic Development of the Town and the County.  The Executive Director meets with the Town’s Economic Redevelopment Commission, The Planning Commission and the Hendricks County Economic Development Partnership.

• Networking opportunities – meet new people and develop potential customers while learning from others during the special Luncheon meetings, Golf Outings and other Community Events.
   

• Communications opportunities – Members are listed in the Chamber Director that is sent to all Members, new prospective businesses and also to prospective residents.  Chamber Website links are available to Members through www.brownsburg.com.  Low cost advertising is available in the monthly Chamber Newsletter.
   

• Member preference – Chamber Members are given first preference when information on businesses is requested.  The Chamber participates in Grand Openings and special events such as Open Houses and Business After Hours programs.
   

• The Chamber works with Government entities with an unified voice.  We attend many Local, County and State meetings to stay abreast of the continually changing political playing field.
   

• Economic Development opportunities – the Chamber works to promote and enhance Business opportunities in the Brownsburg area.  We work with the Town Government to promote Brownsburg as the place to locate a new business.  The Chamber is a source for maps and community information for those businesses searching for new locations.
   

• The Chamber promotes the great quality of life and living standards offered in Brownsburg.  The School system is a great strength for us to offer those looking for a new place to live and raise their families.  We have Religious choices, Retail Businesses, Service Businesses and Dining Facilities that we can be very proud to showcase to anyone interested in learning about our Community.
   

• What your investment provides to the Community
   

• The Staff of the Chamber of Commerce is supported by your investment and promotes the Member Businesses in Brownsburg – Members are given first preference when requests are received.


 

• Helps with the cost of the Member Directory, local Community Maps and Informational Booklets on the excellent quality of life Brownsburg offers.  We handle a variety of inquiries for information.
   

• Allows the Chamber to be active in hosting businesses for review of new site locations in Brownsburg.
   

• The Chamber is involved, with a strong and strategic alliance, with Avon, Danville and Plainfield Chambers of Commerce as well as the Marion County and Indiana Chambers of Commerce.

• A Newsletter is produced and sent to the Membership.

• The Chamber hosts a Luncheon Program, an Annual Golf Outing and the Event of the Year – “The Countree Peddlers Arts In The Park” craft show.

• The Chamber is involved with the local Service Clubs allowing for an active interaction among the various groups in the Town.
