General Brownsburg
Education Information
The Brownsburg
Community School Corporation is among the top school
corporations in the State of Indiana. Academically,
students perform at the highest levels on standardized tests
and the State Department of Education consistently rates
individual Brownsburg community schools as Four Star
Schools.
Our schools continue to grow in
Brownsburg. There are five elementary schools, with two
new buildings that opened in the fall of 2001. A
second middle school opened in the fall of 2005 for 6th, 7th
and 8th graders. The High School
is just underwent an expansion. The Brownsburg Bulldogs are
strong in dozens of sports, and have AAAA football
championships and were the 2005 Baseball State Champions. Many sports including soccer, swimming,
basketball, golf, tennis and field and track have both boys
and girls teams.
The
Brownsburg
Community School Corporation owns and operates a
Challenger Learning Center. One of only 37 such facilities
in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., this advanced
middle-school program offers students a chance to plan,
prepare and execute a simulated mission in space.
Additional private schools are available
for children of all ages. A number of colleges and
universities are in Indianapolis, 30 minutes away: Butler
University, University of Indianapolis, Marian College, and
Indiana Vocational Technical College. Also located within
90 minutes of Brownsburg are Indiana University, Purdue
University, Wabash College, DePauw University, Indiana State
University and Ball State University.
